Hey Guys, I would ask if you would not hammer AA clubs. The situations that you are mentioning are probably individuals rather than the views of clubs on the whole. I think you need to respect the views of others when it comes to hunting and hunters if you wish for the same in return. You guys have ...

Hi Jimmy, Alot of target oriented clubs can be a bit thingy, espcially when you turn up with timber arrows, apparently more likely to lose a point and wind up on the end of a $7000 dollar carbon shaft  I say to them what are you doing shooting in the 5 ring anyway?? :?: For this reason Archery ...

Hi Joel, the first year or so of shooting is more about getting strentgh and muscle memory to be able to do the shot without conscious thought other than complete focus on what you are aiming at. You have good form, and strength so just keep up the practice and reading and the rest just falls into p...

Hunting bows
Just wanting some opinions of what you guys feel makes a good hunting longbow? What weight arrow do you expect the bow to deliver? What weight bow you would happily face Australias largest game with? What distances you would expect to be shooting at? What bow types/characteristics you look for when ...

Hi Grahame, We had perfect conditions, a slight breeze at times, the most I had to aim of was the last marker flag so I can understand that with a stiff breeze or wind it would be extremly hard. I was in a bad mood on the way home, cursing that I had blown the entry fee, blown a day, walked 4 kilome...

Well it was a humbling experience, especially shooting with Australian record holders. The general consensus is to aim with your arm guard and adjust it up and down and adjust according to wind strength and direction. Thanks to all for your help and tips, Thanks to John Allan for his help throughout...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Jeff, Correct tiller on my assymetrical longbows works out to be between 3-5mm positive, I cant see how neutral tiller would work unless we are talking about 3 fingers quite a bit under the arrow. My equal limbed longbows...

Hi Hardgainer, Just to clarify nuetral tiller is only viable on equal limbed longbows, I wouldnt be too worried about tiller shooting three fingers under and split fingers, just adjust nocking point for flight tune. There isnt much at the end of day scores between positive and negative tiller on equ...

Hi Alicat, Just to add to Graeme's post, make sure you keep it indoors or under cover at least, I allow it to dry/settle for a little while and then nock the centre nodes out witha pole to allow better air flow and quicker drying. Once you feel it is close to dry, split it and finish it in your hotb...

Hi Jape, I find a new feather works best at stabilising an arrow, feather height, offset and spiral can affect speed especially in low poundage bows so you need to find the perfect compromise. With regard to glueing the feathers on, if most of the quill is sanded off they seem to curve easier and not...

I feel more at home here Coach, Longbows arent taken seriously in target archery circles :( . . Thanks for the insights guys, It is an AA event so 145m. I shoot 53lbs and know it will make the distance after overshooting many times practicing today. FOC is a great tip, to keep it tracking straighter...
