If you're still curious Daryl, i've finally had a chance to measure up. the first complete section on the left measures 150(ish)mm from node to node The last complete section on the right is 265mm node to node. Daryl, The bamboo i had bought from bunnings and had left over from a garden project. The oak, i have no idea what type or where it came from. it was given to me by a friend who had some left over (i suspect bought from bunnings though so it's probably tasmanian oak) I will try and take some photos ...
