WTB Martin Mamba 45-55lb
Hi gang, my right rotator cuff is keen on a lighter bow, and im missing my old mamba. Showed my son the video of the '92 olympic coldron lighting with one, reminded me how awesome they are. Any colour or timber is fine. Pay good $ for one with phenolic or horn tips. The older ones do not accept FF s...

EOI : Stotler Gamegetter t/d longbow
Hi all, I've got a few bows and I'm thinking of moving this one on. Its labelled at 69# at 27" but It measures in the low 60#s. Happy to measure properly if anyone interested. This is a 63" longbow with a moderate reflex. The limbs are laminated with bamboo and carbon. The draw is very lin...

fur. wool picks up too many burrs and thorns etc.
my bow shoots above 200fps at 7gpp, i shoot 11gpp plus but its still quick, partly owing to the 8 strand string. i need silencers

Lovely bows,
DO NOT USE FAST FLITE!!!
i cannot ove emphasize the importance of this statement. the bows are not FF rated and you will cause catastrophic limb failure. I have been there, done that.

I use vibram 5 fingers when its dry, these kangaroo leather ones in particular. http://www.vibramfivefingers.it/product_details.aspx?model=KSO TREK they are the quietest stalking shoes I know of. you can get smooth soles which would be even quieter. i dont find that my feet get sore wearing them. th...

The interesting thing is that Labour left a 178 million black hole in parks funding! However, politics aside the biggest threat to camping is from the national parks association. This bunch of greeny no hopers want to keep everyone out of parks full stop and create more parks! Too true Len and not ...

Re: Shaping A Riser - Martin Archery.
Seems to me that the way martin do it is pretty much the same as any outer bowyer making laminate bows? The quality of the finish is very consistent and very good. Not heirloom but very good. Bear on the other hand use a machine to shape risers. Thus they have no individuality whatsoever, instead th...

Re: Where in Victoria can I go stumping?
I read a post from a guy in the us who went stumping on deer grounds. so he carried broadheads and blunts, as well as the required permits this may be your solution. the game license in Victoria allows hunting small feral game so I guess blunts are allowed to be carried. if yes, you can stump in mos...

roadie I've got a simple stick and string too, it's made mostly of wood and shoots arrows. this thread was to try to put a stop to the flurry of posts which derail constructive threads. it has sadly failed because the world calls short deflex reflex bows, with flat laminated limbs, either hybrids or...

hi Jeff
regarding the recurve v longbow shoot classes, 3daaa says my bow is in the longbow class so That's where my scores are recorded Not in the recurve division.
Perhaps the club that I shooot at has misinterpreted the 3daaa rules I'm not sure
I won't go on about the other points.
cheers

Re: Recurve, Longbow, Deflex/ Reflex bow nomenclature.
hi Jeff, in response to your comment on my point about calling modern laminated d/r bows "recurves" , I shall explain why calling them this is going to cause confusion. 1) almost every archery body in the world wrongly calls them longbows and reserves the term recurves for full working and...

Re: Recurve, Longbow, Deflex/ Reflex bow nomenclature.
Hybrid in archery is not used in it's literal meaning, same as "instinctive" isn't, remember that one. It is used to describe a bow that has both longbow and recurve characteristics within it's design, same as a Hybrid car runs on petrol and electricity. Best of both worlds just lik...

Troy, I believe the semi recurves such as the Fox and Zeta if in a slimmed down form would be a lousy shooting platform. Daryl. Hi daryl I had a look again at the picture of bow types and have two issues to raise 1) there is no semi recurve listed. There is semi working recurved limbs, is that what...

Mora mora mora! I recommend the 510 model. The sheaths are functional but you could show the lads how to make a nice leather one and it'd be the only knife they ever need in life. Can't speak highly enough of it. Used it during a house renovation, cut plasterboard and god knows what else. It was cov...
