Re: Questions from Moretons daughter, Jasmine.

Hi Jasmine, one of the best books on medieval archery that I know of, with a lot of information is a book titled "Longbow" written by Robert Hardy. Robert Hardy not only is a writter, but also is an English actor. One of his most famous roles was in a TV series called "All creatures g...

Re: New Arrows hand fletched

Hi Ben, A job well done, you should be very proud of the time and effort, you've put into fletching those arrows using the sinew, they, as everyone has said do look great. I also like the look of the bow your using, what poundage is it, and where does someone like me get to see a bow of that type up...

Re: Feedback for Bill Meeks

To all that are wondering as to the weight of the blunts, I'm sorry but I don't have a grain scale measuring device. (I just use a ruler and a pencil, a blunt sitting on one end and the B'Head on the other like a seesaw to match the weight) Each shell/blunt may vary a little bit in weight due to the...

Re: Trad Rabbit Blunts

Hi Roadie, and thanks for the information, but I also still need to know if the bits have a 5 degree / 10 degree inclusive taper, so that when I drill out the blunts, they will fit to my arrows like all the the other heads that I have.

Re: Trad Rabbit Blunts

Hello you say,

To attach I drill a tapered hole and glue them on my arrows.

Question.

The tool you use to drill the tapered hole, does it have a standard 5 degree taper.
If so, where are we able to also purchase such a tool to drill out our Blunts.

thanks.

Hi there, the weather here in wodonga is just right for Kite building and flying, a storm has just past over and the breeze has picked up. My kids have now all grown up and there's one at home during the school holidays any more, so no more kite flying. The best kite that will always fly is a sled k...

Beauty to behold.
I would love to know as to how much time and effort you put into such a lovely piece of art and if you were to build a bow like that for sale with matching arrows what do you think it would be worth.
I do love seeing things of such beauty as that bow and the arrows.
Thanks....Bill

Re: Wildwood Traditional Archery - Laminated Warbow making DVD

I received a copy of the DVD a couple of weeks ago and watched it on a very wet and windy day (no going out side to play) and it was enjoyable. I especially liked the very, very easy string making part. So thanks Gavin.

What type & quantity are you after? Some years ago as a Scout leader I bought a couple of rolls of sinew thread from a local Bits & Pieces store, so as to instruct Scouts in making craft items. Like I said it's of a thread type Sinew and if that's all you need your are welcome to it. You can...

A good old mate of mine (we'll call him "XYZ" ) was hunting out on the Macquarie Marshes in a paddock of wild self sewn wheat growing a bit above knee high when he noticed and shot a pig, he stalked the pig, the pig turned and charged. XYZ sidestepped the charging pig and the pig side step...

Recovery after shoulder surgery

Hi to all, I'm wondering as to how many of you have had shoulder surgery, (mine was to my drawing arm, not from over drawing but due to a dislocation of the shoulder), how long did it take for you to recover with physio and get rid of that pinching pain in the upper part of your shoulder.

Well it was thirty plus years ago at TCB, all the bows there were for hunting. The weight of these bows were far to heavy for me. Then Nick showed me a Bear Polar II and I could shoot that. It stayed that way up until the mid to late 80's when a bloke by the name of Paul told me he could make/get me...

I have used the Tusker's (AKA Davies) since the mid 70's. I can't fault them, unless you hit something hard, like the forehead of a charging pig the Concords tend to curl-up.
