Re: Mountains heal my soul :)

RC That is spectacular country alright. i am a keen muzzle loader shooter myself, when i am not bow hunting. I have never seen an otter before, but for some reason they remind me of my ferrets. Thanks for the pictures they would make great calendar pics...roscoe

Re: Quiver conundrum

Darren i saw your back quiver attached to your hydo pak and it seemed to work pretty good. The arrows were right next to your shoulder. I just remembered another thing why i am not fond of the back quiver. I was hunting one afternoon and a big storm came in and it filled my back quiver with water. T...

Re: stringing nocks

Jeff, I agree with you on the limb twist, but IMO they are not ugly. Its just one small groove above string nock. They make stringing a heavy or deflex/reflex longbow a breeze....Roscoe

Re: QLD Uni hunting survey

There is no doubt that hunting & fishing injects millions of dollars to the economy. But, one thing it does to all of us, which is hard to measure is the excellent mental & physical health aspects of hunting & fishing. I have just taken up in the last 6 months (after a 7 yr spell) regula...

stringing nocks

I have a english warbow and it has a stringing groove above the string nock. I have found this to be the best way yet of string a longbow. My question is how come laminated longbow makers haven't added this groove for stringing there bows? Its easy to add to your bows and it only requires you have a...

Re: Quiver conundrum

There is no magic quiver out there is there? I have tried just about all of them, they all have there advantages & disadvantages. I hunt to with a hydro pack , but all my hunting is in thicker bush. On my recurve bow i have a bow quiver, I don't like the extra bit of weight, but there is nothing...

Re: Question for you hog hunters.

Dodger, I would go with the 2219 shafts myself and use a 100-125grain broadhead and one piece glue in adapters 3x5" shield cut feathers. I find most broadheads are designed with a 11/32" arrow in mind and seam to give better penetration then thicker shafts. using stu millers calculator thi...

Re: More Medieval Arrows

Nice looking arrows there. Did they glue the feathers on then bind them or did they just bind them on in medieval times? Just wanted to know because i binded one arrow with no glue and they seemed ok. It would have been better to glue them, then bind. but i was trying to be authentic. Just wonted to...
