Re: Seasoning a yew stave
ok well no doubt he will have coated the ends of the stave, i personaly would also cover the sap wood with a pva type glue to stop any checking through the bows back, and store it indoors, probably somewhere coolish (like my place :D). how much in total did geting the staves cost you.... i sent them...

it would depend on weather they where handmade or not but generally they really artnt cheep.
also grahmn do u think that they would have been used in war, or just reserved for hunting... i wouldnt want to be a fletcher and get an order for 500 sheves of footed arrows thats for sure, nice work mate.

Re: The deflex/reflex
hmm very interesting numbers, i dont know if there is a way to test it but, with 4lbs at the start of the draw and the deflexd portion of the limb taking the straing early on would that section be more strained than that of an ELB, it sounds obvious that it would but considering that that aria dose ...

all i can say is that at least we still have the oppertunity to hunt, unfortunatly now its a privlage not a right, i forget where it was but there was a tread about weapons proficiancy tests, i think that and bag limits would be a beter alternative.

wow do you boys need some tissues for you issues? how much dose a licence cost? is it more than all that meat? and the hide? and all the fun? god knows its unfortunate that that hunters are seen in such a bad light as it is, the last thing bow hunters need is to be known as poachers aswell. count yo...

This 1 will be up grahams ally,i am wondering how old the D/R design really is, from what i can see form early examples such as the replica of a 5000 year old yew made by tim baker in 1 of the TBB books it just looks like a shallow recurve which has taken more set due to the slight recurve. to me an...
